• The ESLR I have excelled in the most is the Effective Learner

2. Please explain why you think you have excelled in this ELSR.

• Well for one, Effective Learner stresses the importance of personal creativity which my entire senior project is mainly about. Especially through my independent component did I realize that creativity was vitally important. For a person who may not have much creativity, scrapbooking may be a difficult task but I've completed it with flying colors. I also turn in all of my work on time for my senior project whether that be research count, mentorship hours, presentation lesson plans, etc.

1. What is your essential question?

• Why are wedding planners essential to a successful wedding?

2. What is your third answer to your essential question (write your third answer in a complete sentence)?

• Wedding planners are essential to a successful wedding because they are able to provide connections with other vendors such as florists, bakers, photographers, etc. to further enhance a wedding or lower down the costs.

3. What are three details to support or justify your third answer (details are examples or facts)?

• A wedding planner can lower down the cost of a wedding by hiring the right vendors they have connections with. Most of the time, a wedding planner can also persuade a vendor to pitch in an extra deal.
• An engaged couple can provide more trust within a wedding planner when they are offered connections of other vendors. They realize the other vendors may be more experienced this way.
• If something goes wrong, instead of putting the full blame on themselves, an engaged couple can turn towards the wedding planner to pitch in for warranty for providing them with that vendor. It's like another contract towards the wedding planner to provide more safety of the special day.

4. What source helped you prove this answer is justified for your essential question?

5. What do you plan to study next and why?

• I plan to look more at the connections of vendors and see into detail how that works. For example, do they need to have contracts with one another or do they just offer their partner to customers by word. I also plan to contact some vendors to see if they are willing to provide connections with my current mentor at Entertaining as Always.

1. What is your essential question?

• Why are wedding planners essential to a successful wedding?

2. What is your second answer to your essential question (write your second answer in a complete sentence)?

• My second answer to my essential question is learning how to successfully manage time.  

3. What are three details to support or justify your second answer (details are examples or facts)?

• Well first off, if a couple does not successfully manage their time they might run into trouble such as a delay in the wedding celebration. For example, I attended a wedding where the bride was 30 minutes late because she didn't wake up on time and that held the ceremony and I could tell the guests were starting to get irritable. So basically, to avoid unnecessary problems on the day of the wedding, manage your time well. 
• Second, by not planning out components of the wedding during the time your suppose to, you might find yourself in a situation where your dream venue or vendor might not be available. Venues and Vendors really like to know in advance when your wedding date will be so they can alter their agenda for you. But if you decide to plan something last minute (lack of successful time managing) you might not get what you want. 
• Third, by planning the wedding components at the appropriate time, you will feel yourself being less stressed the closer you get to the day of the wedding. Instead of procrastinating and feeling stressful, you and your fiance will feel more relaxed because their is less stuff to do. 

4. What source helped you prove this answer is justified for your essential question?

• My mentor, Gretchen Davis Strutzenberg helped me the most while finding my second answer. The article "Short Engagements: How to Plan a Wedding on Short Timing" also gave me ideas as well. 

5. What do you plan to study next with your second answer and why?

• With me second answer, time managing, I plan on studying how couples who do not manage their time well have an unsuccessful wedding celebration because I feel like I need to look at what they are doing wrong in order to better educate myself on what is the right thing to do. It's kind of like monkey see, monkey NOT do. 

Blog 10: Senior Project Update

(1) What are you currently doing in your independent component? 

• I am currently looking up the best vendors The Knot website has recommended me to put together my list of vendors that I think would help a bride and groom the most. I am also contacting each vendor through email or phone for specific information such as, the price of a venue if I were to have 200 guests and so on. 

(2) What is a recent piece of research (article, interview, or audio-visual) that have you reviewed you would say was significant in helping you understand where to go next in your senior project?  The piece of research should be something you reviewed in November.  Please explain what you learned and where are you going next because of this piece of research.

• The research that has helped me the most for my independent component is the article, "Bridal Show Tips: Bring Labels, Negotiate with Vendors". I learned that in order to impress engaged couples, vendors must perform the right way in the midst of a Wedding Show. I've also learned that vendors must cater needs to every bride at the show such as, price, style, trend, etc.  Although I've already started on my independent research, this article will make me double check my component to make sure that I am not targeting vendors at just one type of bride, but that I will also cover a large spectrum of clients. 

(3) Provide evidence from your independent component or the piece of research as something you recently did.  For example, a photo of something you working on for your independent component or your notes from the video you watched. 

• This is the spreadsheet of one of recommended venues for weddings that I have put together so far. It shows the name, price, type of venue, etc., to allow future clients to specifically pick out which venue would satisfy their needs.

Blog 9: Working EQ and Possible Answers

1. What was the Working EQ you used during your presentation?

• Why are wedding planners essential to a successful wedding?

2. Did you decided to revise your working EQ after your presentation? If so, write your revised EQ here. If not simply write "I am not going to revise my EQ at this time".

• I am not going to revise my EQ at this time.

3. What are possible answers to your current working EQ?

• So far, my possible answers include the fact that brides are allowed to celebrate their wedding and marriage stress free due to the assistance of a wedding planner. I also have the fact that Wedding Planners are there to help the bride pick details for her wedding that are "budget friendly". If a bride were to choose something (for example, china ware) that was beyond her budget, then a Wedding Planner can be there to advise her to choose something else. Also, the Wedding Planner has the experience of managing time. Compared to a new bride who does not no much about deadlines for a wedding, the Planner can be there to make sure everything goes as plan as efficient as possible. 

Blog 2: Topic Choice

A.  My senior topic is Wedding Coordination/Planning because I enjoy the idea of helping someone achieve their dream wedding. Every girl has a dream wedding, whether they be extravagant or simple. When I was younger, I decided that I would have a poofy ballgown and a prince as my husband (Of course, that is different to what I think my dream wedding should be now). But over the years when I attended weddings, I grew to appreciate it. It takes a lot of time and effort to organize a wedding so I would like to take the pressure off of engaged couples to keep them stress free until the wedding. As my once mentor said "Couples should enjoy the time they spend together without stressing over their big day!".

B. 

• iPoly Citizen: I plan to use effective teamwork while working on this topic. It is not just the Wedding Coordinator that plans the wedding but the bride and groom as well. This will improve myself as an iPoly citizen because it will raise my understanding of how teamwork is important to get the job done. This way, I can apply the importance of teamwork to school projects as well. 
• Effective Communicator: I plan to understand how Wedding Coordinators work with their clients. This will make me a more effective communicator because I can observe how the Coordinators share and understand the little details of the clients dream wedding and put it into action. 
• Effective Learner: I plan to learn time management while working with Wedding Coordinators. In this field, it is very important to manage time or else things will not go as expected. This will make me more effective as a learner because time management will help me lessen stress when a deadline is near.
• Effective User of Technology: I plan to understand the technological way of organizing rather than writing everything down. This will make me more effective as a user of technology because it will help me become familiar with the various ways of organization technologically rather than wasting time jotting little details in a small organizer.
